The Much-Awaited James Bond Game First Light Experiences a Setback, Now Arriving in Late Spring 2026.

The arrival of the hotly anticipated James Bond video game, titled 007 First Light, will now arrive later to 27 May 2026.
First planned for a 27 March release, the title will now debut approximately a couple of months after its initial date.
A Long-Awaited Return for 007
This project represents the first video game centered on the famous British spy since 2012's 007 Legends, concluding a considerable hiatus for the character in the gaming world.
"The game is completely traversable from beginning to end," stated developer IO Interactive. "But, we are taking this additional period to apply final touches and ensure it satisfies the demanding benchmarks of our players."
Development Details and Narrative Components
The game is in production in partnership with Delphi Interactive, a studio also responsible for another major title.
Patrick Gibson, star of Dexter: Original Sin, will portray a young James Bond in what is touted as a reimagined origin story.
The narrative details Bond as he joins into MI6 and secures his legendary 00 status, presenting a self-contained tale independent of the films or books.
Notable Cast and Gameplay Reveals
Enhancing the celebrity appeal, American musician Lenny Kravitz has been revealed as the game's central foe.
Released preview videos have demonstrated shared mechanics with IO Interactive's hit Hitman franchise, while also featuring the classic gadgets and cinematic set pieces expected from Bond.
However, some feedback on these trailers voiced issues about visual performance, citing stuttering and prominent motion blur.
An Ambitious Undertaking
IO Interactive has labeled 007 First Light its "biggest project to date."
"We're confident this positions 007 First Light up for a strong future," the studio stated. "We sincerely appreciate the understanding and continued support we've received."
